Star-Valley-Ranch
is a small town located in Lincoln County's Star Valley in western Wyoming. As of the 2010 census, the population was 1,503 full-time residents. The population of the town does swell in the summertime with visiting tourists. The community of Star Valley Ranch is part of the beautiful Star Valley, which is a grassland valley in western Wyoming, surrounded by forested mountains. It lies between the Salt River Range in western Wyoming and the Webster Range of eastern Idaho. The altitude of Star Valley ranges from 5,600 feet to 7,000 feet. There are three major rivers in the valley; the Salt River, the Greys River and the Snake River meet near Alpine Junction at Palisades Reservoir. Aside from Star Valley Ranch, some of the other towns located in Star Valley include Afton, Bedford, Etna, Smoot, Fairview, Osmond, Grover, Auburn, Alpine, Nordic, and Turnerville. Star Valley is a great place to vacation for the whole family. Aside from the stunning scenery, there's tons of recreational activities in the area; fishing, river rafting, boating, golf, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, scenic drives, wildlife viewing and superb photographic opportunities. It's also home to Star Valley Ranch Resort, which offers a swimming pool, barbecue facilities, golf, bumper boats, tennis courts, horseshoes, a playground, basketball courts and a clubhouse.

West-central Wyoming, on the Idaho border , the overall climate is relatively cool, due to its' elevation. Summers are warm during the day, but summer nights are almost invariably cool. Temperatures depend on the elevation, with the mountains and high valleys being much cooler with average lows in the middle of the summer in the 30s and 40s, with occasional drops below freezing. Lower elevations have lows in the 50s and 60s. In the wintertime it's normal to have rapid and frequent changes between mild and cold spells. The sun shines in Wyoming 60 percent of the time in the winter to about 75 percent during the summer. Precipitation ranges from 7 to 10 inches per year.
